Friday Fave's #5

Friday Fave's Theme: Hope

I wanted to give everyone a little bit of a break from the disaster in Japan, but I didn't want to stray too far. So this weeks theme is hope.

23 inch White Shabby Chic Distressed Nursery Hope Decor Sign
I love items that are versatile. This would make a great gift for anyone, especially if their name is Hope and would look good in any home or office; on the wall, mantel, or sitting in a large bookshelf. You can buy this at Rivalry Time. This one is $39.99. Be sure to step into the shop to check out all the other goodies!

Wish Big
These vinyl words are very inspiring, and again, versatile. This would look great in a little girls room, a teenage girls room, if you have a free wall in your kitchen; this would look great there too. I think it would make a great housewarming gift. You can find this at singlestonestudios for $65.

Rain or Balloon Print
Not entirely sure if this has to do with hope but it is inspiring, and too cute to pass up! You can buy this adorable print at ilovedoodle for $30.

Braille Painting
This one is really cool, it's a painting of "hope" in braille by JMJARTSTUDIO for $229.

Nest of Hope Pendant
Nothing is more promising of hope than the promise of life, this is such a lovely necklace. This would actually be good for someone who is expecting, or has three grandchildren. Just lovely. You can get this at auntbattyscloset for $35.

HOPE e35
This bracelet is buy pinkyourlimb and is $8. I like it because it kind of has bohemian feel to it. Pinkyourlimb has other wonderful bracelets that definitely deserve a looksy.

Hope Cross
This one really needs no words but its beautiful in it's simplicity and is a symbol for hope, love, peace, faith.... You can find this at chipcarving for $70.

That's our theme for this week people, next week's theme will be "Good Deals and Steals" so stay tuned! And don't forget to keep reading so you can find out how you can help Japan.

Crafting Trends

When you stare at all the goodies Etsy has to offer as often as I do, you start to notice trends. I've compiled a list of what I believe to be the top ten trends on Etsy, in no particular order.

Sweetheart Vintage Textile Bunting by monkeypuzzle
Bunting

Bunting is VERY popular right now, so popular that as you read this your probably saying, "Well, duh!" I've been seeing it in jewelry, paper crafts, art, ceramics and pottery, accessories and of course, decor for every occasion. I'll even be participating in this trend soon.

Yellow Eye Owl by woolbuddy
Owls

I've been seeing owls every where, too. I even bought myself this adorable owl keychain from Needlings (Which I will be telling you all about once I receive it in the mail.)

Queen for a Day by clairelafaye
Anything Weddings

Another "Well, duh!" moment.

Wood Kitchen or Bathroom Wall Shelf by ACOUNTRYWAY
The Color Mint

I've been seeing this color everywhere, not just Etsy. Its a great color for spring, its fresh and it fits with everything, from jewelry to accessories to geekery!

The Swing Set by irenesuchoki
Carousels

This one I'm seeing mostly in photography. I've noticed a lot of them have this faded, washed, antiqued look to them.

Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake by artyscapes
Keep Calm

I've seen so many variants of this, all of them are fun and even inspiring... Like this one! I want cake now...

Quintessential Mix of Mustaches Set of 5 by whiskerworks
The Mustache

I see them attached to sticks, shirts, mugs, even pacifiers!

Lips on a Stick The Toothy Grin by MaroDesigns
The Lips

This one isn't as prominent as the mustache but it does go hand in hand so I just had to add it

Jellyfish Sea Monster by BlackBaroque
Painted/drawn Art on Printed Pages

This may not be one of the bigger trends on this list but there are quite a few artists on Etsy doing it and I think its a great way to recycle unwanted books and old newspapers.

Beautiful little dress and flower sash by MyLolaFashion
Bright Blues

I've been seeing this a lot in Treasury and during random searches, could this be a trend?

Friday's Faves #1

Friday's Faves Theme: Undiscovered Talent

Buttercup Pleated Handbag
I love this bag! It is cute and refreshing and just makes me think spring. It would look adorable with almost anything, jeans and tee, a flowing spring dress paired with matching sandals and only $30. You can find this bag and more like it here, at RockyMountainBags

Tom Thumb Pink 8x10 Fine Art Print
I found this photography print at the pinktutuphoto shop on Etsy. If you've been following me you know that I love anything vintage and I just really enjoy this photo of a pink Tom Thumb. It would look great in a matching pink frame and matted in white; for $12.

Pastel Leather Bunting Necklace
What a cute necklace. Bunting is becoming a very popular trend these days, not just as decoration but in fashion as well especially with spring coming up (Wouldn't this look cute paired with the Buttercup Pleated Handbag?). Coocachoo also has other equally adorable items, but unfortunately, as a personal rule I can only list one item from one shop and I could NOT pass this necklace up; available at an affordable price of $12

Ocean
I found this beautiful, handmade sweater at bschellenberg. Bschellenberk has many other hand knitted and crocheted items, each one as lovely as the next. I think the color of this is gorgeous. Available at $110

Marigolds Butterfly Wing 8x10
This print makes me want to get back into watercolor painting. The color is rich, it has clean lines, the painting itself, I would describe as whimsical. It just brings inspiration to the creative mind. How wonderful would this look in a white frame and mat in someones studio? This print is available at BeautifulMessByEmma for $25.

Hand Knit Pale Yellow Cardigan
And now, for my last item for today's Faves, is this adorable 12-18 months, hand knitted cardigan I found at SamMillyVintage for only $12! Not too shabby. SamMillyVintage has many other adorable vintage finds from clothing, to accessories to household items.
