Natural Eyeliner Report

So, remember last Thursday when I talked about purchasing natural makeup from Etsy and had bought this eyeliner for myself? Well, I finally got it in the mail and gave it a try Sunday. I really liked how black it was and how easily it went on and I like how the tube is clear so that I know just how much is in there. However, it did it have it's downfalls. The first day I tried it I gave myself a lovely cateye. In the description, it said to allow it to dry for two minutes before applying more; but, it wasn't drying. At all. I even tried a blow dryer on cool, low, on my eye lids to try and get them to dry faster. Nothing. I went ahead and wore it through out the day just to see if it would EVER dry. And it didn't it. It was still tacky and would occasionally leave little black marks on my eyelids that I had to keep fixing. The next day, I decided to give it another try, this time though, I did a thinner line and never added another coat and I wore it all day. It still never dried! Finally, that night, I contacted the seller and told her what was happening. I told her that I liked the liner enough to give it another shot and if she had any tips on how I might fix my problem and if it didn't work then I could exchange the item. I did as she said, I wore a powder eyeshadow to keep it in place and I started off with an even thinner line, I didn't even add another coat and wore it through out the day. It still wasn't drying. Too bad, too. I really liked how it went on. So, the seller is sending me her pumpkin cheesecake (my favorite dessert!) lip balm to replace my liner, and best part is, I don't have to send the liner back!

Even though the liner wasn't all that I thought it would be, the seller gave great service. She answered my convos promptly and allowed me to exchange the liner without actually having to return it. I may not buy the liner ever again, but the service was so good I would be happy to try her other products. That mascara looks really nice... hmmm...

Etsy Purchase Review #3

I actually bought quite a few things from Etsy this month but they're all supplies for my shop. I did, however, buy one fun item (Not that my supplies aren't fun, they're fun, I just don't think everyone would be interested in hearing about it, that's all).

With Easter coming up at the end of this month I've been in the market for an Easter Bunny for Tessa (It'll be her first Easter!) I found the perfect bunny at Cindimh. It's just the right size and is made from a very soft material.What sold me on it was that it was made with babies in mind. And of course it's just so cute!

Etsy Purchase Review #2

Owly Love Keychain

Good morning everyone! I have an etsy purchase review for you; Needlings .

Needlings is a plushie shop on Etsy and is based in Canada. The owner, Heather Saunders belongs to the etsy Plush Team which you can check out at their website (It has a listing of other members and their sites).

I've been in the market for a new key chain for a while, ever since my Twilight key chain broke. I knew I wanted something cutesy, and I wanted an owl, they're just so cute! I had favorited a few of them but then I came across one from Needlings and I just fell in love. I thought it was the cutest little thing I had ever seen, and in my new favorite color too! Mint! It did take a little while to get here but that was understandable since it was coming all the way from Canada. But when I did get it, it was well packaged and not only was my little owl in it, which I have nicknamed my "Traveling Buddy," but I also received an adorable little pin back button with a picture of a cartoon owl on it and a fun promotional sticker for the Plush Team. That's what I love about etsy, your not just paying for the item, you paying for customer service.

Samaritan's Purse

The Samaritan's Purse is a Christian Organization that helps others around the world. Their name comes from the parable that Jesus Christ told in Luke 10:25-37; "The Good Samaritan." For those who are unfamiliar with this parable, it is a story of a Jew left beaten, robbed, and left for dead who is found by the "Good Samaritan" who helps the Jew by giving him food, clothes and shelter. Basically, Jesus Christ says that we should all help those in need; which is exactly what the Samaritans Purse does.

This is another organization I have some experience with (you can read about the other organization here). Every Christmas our church donates shoe boxes with small goodies in it to the Samaritans Purse to passed out to needy children who won't be receiving gifts that year.

You can check out the Samaritan's Purse online, view their history, their different missions, what they are about and what they are doing to improve the world before you donate to the Japan relief fund. On their website you can also donate to other funds as well. Just take a look.

Etsy purchase review #1

I don't buy things from Etsy as much as I would like to since money is tight. So, my Etsy Purchase Reviews will probably be far and few inbetween. And to be clear, I will NEVER write a bad review about anyone, it's like that old saying, if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all.

Do you remember THIS Friday's Faves post? Well, I bought that bicycle bell for Veronica! Yep, and Spoke n' Wheel was so nice, too. After I had made the blog post they offered me a 15% discount for the bike bell which mostly covered the shipping and handling. It was very kind of them, thanks again!

I received my lovely little bell Saturday, March 12th while my family was here so I didn't get a chance to check it out much. I did get it attached to my bike the next day though. Its a nice bright red with the letter "E" for Elissa on it, in the same color. It attaches like your basic bike bell and has a nice little chime. I love it. It's very me and is super cute. Saturday Summary

This week has been busy as always and went by SO fast, I couldn't believe it was already the weekend, it just doesn't feel like Saturday to me.

So Monday started off with a review of a fellow Etsian, The Posh Event; a beautiful Etsy shop that has wonderful printables for your wedding. Briefly on Tuesday I posted a link to a treasury that I had been featured in (I wanted to do more for that post buy my daughter had tired me out). Wednesday was an homage to the glorious world of handmade and how it can really benefit the economy. I also made a link to Buy Handmade if anyone is interested in making the pledge. Thursday I announced plans for my shop and on my favorite day of the week, Friday, I made another lovely Friday's Faves with the theme; mint, my new favorite color. And who can forget about me posting how Only the Best of Etsy is giving away one of my card sets?
